CD&R Appoints Former JPMorgan Chase & Co. Executive Gordon Smith as Operating Advisor

Clayton, Dubilier & Rice announced Gordon Smith, former Co-President and Chief Operating Officer of JPMorgan Chase & Co., as an Operating Advisor to CD&R funds. Mr. Smith will work with CD&R's financial services team to help source new investments and advise the funds' businesses.
Mr. Smith brings nearly 40 years of experience in financial services. As the former Co-President and Chief Operating Officer of JPMorgan Chase, he reported to Chairman and CEO Jamie Dimon and was a member of the firm's Operating Committee. In this role, Mr. Smith helped oversee all aspects of the company’s business and operating issues before retiring in January of 2022. For much of his tenure, Smith acted as CEO of Consumer & Community Banking, a leading provider of banking, credit cards, auto finance, payments, mortgages, and investment advice.

Prior to his time at JPMorgan Chase & Co., Mr. Smith spent more than 25 years at American Express, where he led and managed several businesses, including the Global Commercial Card Business. He serves on the Board of Directors of Choice Hotels International.
Mr. Smith holds a master’s degree from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
