June 30, 2022

Vindi Banga, CD&R Operating Partner, addressed the London Business School Private Capital Symposium on the role of private capital in driving ESG impact through operational improvements to businesses. Speaking on the ESG and Impact Investing panel, Mr. Banga addressed industry experts and thought leaders on the function ESG initiatives play in building strong businesses, and the positive role private capital is playing to facilitate this transition.

The panel, moderated by Luisa Alemany, Associate Professor of Management Practice in Strategy and Entrepreneurship, focused on the role of private capital in driving ESG initiatives and discussed the impact of the current macro-economic environment on ESG development. During the panel, Mr. Banga highlighted how building good businesses is dependent upon building sustainable businesses, and how, in his view, private equity and the transformative capital it brings are well positioned to invest to support this transition. Mr. Banga also discussed the increasing importance of ESG measurement and regulatory developments for creating a global framework for sustainable business.

Mr. Banga joined CD&R as an Operating Partner in 2010, after a 33-year career at Unilever where he led their sustainability agenda in his role as executive board member and president of Global Foods, Home & Personal Care. Based in London, he has supported several CD&R investments, including Diversey, Mauser Group and Morrisons. He also helped establish the Firm's joint venture in India.
