Anand is a physician and national health policy leader focused on bringing new technologies to market, redesigning health care delivery, and expanding competition and consumer choice. He became an Operating Advisor to CD&R funds in 2022 and currently serves as CEO of Aster Insights. Anand served as the Deputy Commissioner for Medical and Scientific Affairs at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. He was Senior Medical Advisor at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and Chief Medical Officer of the CMS Innovation Center. Anand is an Adjunct Professor of Medical Ethics and Health Policy and an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics, both at the University of Pennsylvania. He was previously a Senior Advisor to Morgan Stanley. Anand was chief resident during his radiation oncology residency at Columbia University. He earned an M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, a M.P.H. in health care management and policy from the Harvard School of Public Health, and a B.S. in economics from Duke University.
