John is the former vice president and CIO for GE Infrastructure where he led a global team responsible for implementing IT and digital strategies driving business and customer growth. His responsibilities encompassed implementing ERPs, cloud infrastructure, global networks, customer applications, and cyber-security. John began his career with the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority where he was responsible for designing and implementing criminal justice IT solutions. He joined GE in 1982 and served in seven business CIO roles over 30 years, including GE Capital Auto Auctions, Railcar Services, and Auto Financial Services, GE Lighting, and GE Plastics. He became an officer of GE in 2000 and joined GE Energy in 2002 as the CIO. He then grew his role to the CIO role of GE Infrastructure, which included GE Energy, Aviation, and Transportation for several years to drive IT consolidation across three major businesses. John was the Georgia CIO Leadership Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award winner in 2013, as well as the Georgia CIO of the year in 2004. Mr Seral also held DoD Top Secret cyber and DoE “Q” nuclear security clearances for 10 years. He served on the board of Softtek until 2020, and currently is on the Tech Mahindra advisory board. John has an M.B.A. in Marketing and Finance from the Keller Graduate School, and a B.S. in Math and Computer Science from the University of Illinois.
